This Privacy Policy describes how AuditLens ("we," "us," or "our"), operated by Akshat Ratanpal, located in Mumbai, India, collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our desktop application and website.

2.1 Purchase Information

When you purchase AuditLens through our payment processor (Lemon Squeezy), the following information may be collected:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Billing address
  • Payment information (processed securely by Lemon Squeezy; we do not store your credit card details)

2.2 Application Data

AuditLens operates with a "Bring Your Own Key" (BYOK) architecture. This means:

  • Screenshots and audit evidence are stored locally on your computer only. We do not collect, transmit, or store your screenshots on any server.
  • AI API keys (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google) that you enter are stored locally on your machine. We never have access to your API keys.
  • AI analysis results are generated directly between your machine and the AI provider. No data passes through AuditLens servers.
  • Project data, analysis history, and settings are stored exclusively on your local machine.

2.3 License Verification

The application may contact our licensing service to verify your purchase. This may transmit a machine identifier and license key. No personal data, screenshots, or audit content is transmitted during verification.

2.4 Website Data

When you visit our website, we may collect standard web analytics data such as browser type, IP address, pages visited, and referring URLs. This data is used to improve our website and is not linked to your identity.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

  • To process your purchase and deliver the software
  • To provide license keys and verify your license
  • To send purchase receipts and, if applicable, product update notifications
  • To respond to support inquiries
  • To improve our product and website

4. Third-Party Services

4.1 Lemon Squeezy (Payment Processor)

We use Lemon Squeezy to process payments. Your payment information is handled directly by Lemon Squeezy in accordance with their privacy policy. We do not have access to your full credit card details.

4.2 AI Service Providers

When you use AuditLens, your screenshots are sent directly from your computer to the AI provider you have configured (OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google). This connection is direct and does not pass through any AuditLens infrastructure. Each AI provider has its own privacy policy and data handling practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of your chosen AI provider:

5. Data Storage and Security

All audit evidence, screenshots, analysis results, API keys, and project data are stored locally on your computer. We do not have access to this data. The security of your locally stored data depends on the security measures you apply to your own device.

We implement reasonable security measures to protect the personal information we collect during the purchase process. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

6. Data Retention

Purchase records are retained for as long as necessary for business, legal, and tax purposes. Local application data is under your control and can be deleted at any time by uninstalling the application or deleting the data files.
